About the project
Planning tools built around trust
LayoutWright is an independent software project for DIY renovators, homeowners, designers, finish carpenters, installers, and small contractors.
Why it exists
Decorative layouts often combine repetitive spacing, mixed units, practical rounding, and material estimates. A bare calculator can produce a number while leaving the datum, assumptions, or installation meaning unclear. This project joins the calculation with measurement guidance, a visual check, and an explanation of the result.
How tools are selected
The project starts with one focused interior-layout problem and expands only to adjacent tasks that can provide distinct, maintained value. It does not create duplicate pages for countries, spelling, units, or entered values.
Editorial responsibility
Formulas, examples, measurement language, and limitations are reviewed as product behaviour. Advertising is disabled in this baseline and must never influence a calculated result. Material changes to formulas or rounding require updated specifications and regression tests.
What the tools are not
Results are planning aids, not structural engineering, building-code, certification, or manufacturer advice. Verify site conditions and seek qualified trade advice where the project requires it.
